Congratulations to Allan Headon for correctly placing the location of last month’s photo as being of the blockhouse on the Rideau Canal at Merrickville, Ontario. Thanks to Martin Wojtowicz for sending us the photo of his yellow Viggen, taken in July. The blockhouse was completed in 1832 as part of the canal’s defenses, although it was never the scene of military action. As pointed out by Martin, the Canal was designated a World Heritage Site in 2007 by the United Nations.
