Track Map - Pro Circuit

Tracks Fabi and Nelson are joined. You're traveling the outer perimeter and not using the inner tracks, sadly, no Moss Carousel. Length is 2.47 km (1.55 miles). Start/finish is on Fabi Track. Renumbered by Blake to correspond with CRCA corner worker numbering.

  1. This Nelson 1, the fast sweeper. Only problem is, the exit is very different then when driving the Nelson circuit. The driver must get over to the right edge of the track to set up properly for detour!
  2. Quick turn-in required. Initially off-camber then banked corner hooks into the Fabi circuit at the exit of Fabi corner 7. Don't early apex. Don't slip off the top of the banking. There's swamp out there... Make sure Craig Tilford is not in the car if you go through here without brakes... 3rd gear.
  3. There are a couple of lines through here. There's a little straight after the exit. The popular one at medium speed is to enter straight after corner parallel to road at extreme right edge, i.e. an incredibly late apex. So stay a bit wide. Improves exit and entrance into next corner. Beginning with this corner through 10, this feels like a combination. Give good throttle through exit. 3rd or 2nd gear. The aggressive style is to attack the apex earlier and let the car drift wide or left but then quickly pull it in.
  4. Brake in straight line into turn-in. Optionally, down-shift to 2 before turn-in. Another fairly sharp turn-in. Watch for black marks. Change in pavement at apex. Car wants to slip to right edge - a lot of drivers pull it in to the left. Quick little throttle here. On exit, straight-line to turn-in of 10. If you didn't down-shift before 9, get it down now - more technical though.
  5. Hairpin right onto straight. Maybe be slowest corner. Requires great discipline, great patience. Slow in... Very demanding turn-in - may require hand repositioning (but try to avoid that). Change in pavement at apex. Late apex is better than early. 2nd gear, Up-shift twice down main straight. Race cars do this in 1st gear.
    General passing zone between 10 and 1. This straight is parallel to the 401, just to the north. Good time to check the gauges.
  6. A small sweeper right at the east end of the drag strip, can be taken at fairly high speed. Hard braking from straight-away. Down shift early, get it done early. Apex turtles are quite tall - don't ride up on them. 3rd gear.
  7. Rather than travel right through Fabi 2, you jog right then slip into a fast straight back toward Nelson. This turns the corner into a fast tap-n-go chicane. 3rd gear.
  8. "Allen's Corner." This hard left connects back onto Nelson. Surprisingly slow, get your speed down! There's a bump or shift in pavement before the turn-in that unsettles the car during hard-braking. Try after the apex to get over as far left as possible to improve the setup into the straight.
  9. Nelson 7. This is much harder than on Nelson as you're approaching from "Allen's Corner." It's over 100° now. Enter from the middle or left-of-middle. Smooth, hard power on.
