ECU Software
Submitted by dip on 25. October 2009 - 21:05Spent almost 4 hours tonight, troubleshooting software issues on a customer's car. The stubborn car would only run properly on one particular build of Trionic7. So incredibly frustrating! The owner exhibited wonders of patience and stayed after dark, until everything got resolved.
Socializing Costs Money
Submitted by dip on 1. August 2007 - 20:41Ordered my SOC07 admission tickets today. Wonder if they get enough people for their track event (yeah, I bought into that too).

A Fly In The Ointment
Submitted by dip on 17. May 2007 - 15:14...or as the Russians say, "a spoonful of tar in a barrel of honey".
The new front suspension is amazing. The car sits a bit higher than it used to with Intrax springs, and the ride is much more comfortable. I guess the Bilsteins really feel better with the wider travel range available, instead of the last couple of inches of rod length they were squeezed into with the old springs. And it shows - the car successfully passed the Steeles Avenue test (the street with most cracks and potholes around here ;).
In the same time, it manages to dive and roll less, and handles better overall. Eibach forever.
What spoils the fun though, is the worn ball joint on the left side. It keeps getting worse, making annoying popping sounds. And I have a few nice words to say to those Saab engineers to made it integral with the control arm. You can't just buy a new ball joint piece, you need a whole new arm. Grrrr! I snatched a replacement on eBay, can't wait for it to arrive.
